long sleeve shirt under short sleeve shirt/the ipod commercial mix
I want to live inside of an iPod commercial. I’m sure if you’re here you know the ones I mean. Here’s one that I remember deep in my brain from childhood:
And on top of this, the Gap commercial featuring Daft Punk and Juliette Lewis. Is this the best commercial in the world?
I think the epitome of 2000s fashion has to be the short sleeve graphic tee over a long sleeve, ESPECIALLY a waffle knit long sleeve underneath. This with some bootcut jeans and converse. This is THE vision for this album. And here is a tweet that said it better than I ever could, which reads, “in 2007 if you wore a long sleeve t-shirt under a regular t-shirt it meant that you liked music”. Exactly.
Anyways, this playlist is an amalgamation of genres of the early 2000s era; inspired by iPod and Gap commercials, and stuff my mom had on her iPod, and an overall blend of things I love from this era. Some are more chilled out, and some are high energy and weird and dancey and crazy. It’s what I imagine the rock stars and band members I idolize from that time were listening to. It’s what I’d probably be listening to if I’d been my current age in roughly 2005-2007, instead of a toddler, with a music blog and myspace and super awesome flickr account.
