Over the Summer I read Lizzy Goodman’s Meet Me In The Bathroom, and let me tell you, it was life-changing. I had gotten into Interpol a bit before reading it and wanted to learn more about the NYC post-punk rock revival from the early-2000s, and this book helped me make so many mental connections. Bands I already loved, like the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and the Strokes, and Bloc Party (who were not a New York band, but they certainly helped shape this era) were all instrumental in creating this “scene” that I wish so badly I could’ve been a part of. Put on your favorite graphic tee, and maybe some sunglasses, or maybe something kinda business casual, and some Converse, and enjoy what is pretty much my “I have an obsession with Interpol” playlist.
